WIP Profile Section / Exiles WIP: Natalie Lasombra of Universe Alpha-1653
« Last post by Raven Tepes on February 23, 2026, 08:50:36 pm »“I grew up in a house where shadows bowed to my father and fire curled like a loyal cat around my mother’s fingers. Other children learned lullabies. I learned the language of embers and the patience of stone. Father taught me that power is a quiet thing, a tide that does not brag as it pulls ships under. Mother taught me that flame can warm or devour, depending on the hand that shapes it.
Between them, I was never simply a daughter. I was a spark struck in ancient darkness, a blossom rooted in grave-soil and starlight. They did not raise me to fear the night. They raised me to rule it, to understand it, and when necessary, to set it beautifully ablaze.”
~ Natalie Lasombra
“People expect a vampire princess to glitter. Silk gowns, jeweled crowns, a fleet of midnight cars waiting like obedient hounds. I’d rather sit barefoot in the grass and listen to the wind argue with the trees.
Power was my inheritance, yes. But kindness was my choice.
The volunteers who offer their blood are not cattle to me. They are guests at my table. I learn their names. I ask about their dreams. I thank them. Immortality has taught me that life, especially the fragile human kind, is not something to sneer at. It is something to cradle carefully, even if your fangs are sharp.
I love oil paint on my fingers, charcoal smudges on my cheek, the hum of a cello vibrating through cathedral halls. I love rain tapping against stone. I love the scent of earth after it has been kissed by storm.
Gold tarnishes. Diamonds are only patient rocks. Money is a language spoken by the anxious.
But art? Music? A quiet walk beneath a moon that knows your secrets? Those are treasures even eternity cannot exhaust.
If that makes me an odd princess, then so be it. I would rather be remembered as gentle in a world that expects me to be cruel.”
~ Natalie Lasombra
“I thought she was soft. That was my first mistake.
She stepped onto the battlefield like she was entering a garden, calm as snowfall. No rage. No theatrics. Just… focus. Then the air changed. The temperature dropped so fast my breath **** in my lungs, and black fire coiled around her hands like it had been waiting all day to be summoned.
She moves like someone who studied war the way scholars study poetry. Every strike is precise. Every pivot measured. She doesn’t waste motion, doesn’t waste fury. Ice forms where you least expect it, locking your footing. Dark flame follows, not wild, not reckless, but disciplined. Controlled devastation.
I’ve fought monsters who roared and raged. Natalie doesn’t roar. She decides.
And when I fell, expecting the final blow, she didn’t take it. She stood over me, eyes glowing like banked embers, and said, ‘Leave. Do not make me choose differently next time.’
That’s the part that haunts me. Not the cold. Not the fire.
The mercy.
Because she could have ended me. Easily.
Instead, she let me crawl away with my life and the knowledge that her restraint is stronger than most warriors’ wrath.”
